Professional Background Coaching Experience
Ms. Brown began coaching in 1998. Coaching enables her to integrate a broad background in the private and public sectors to support her clients with a unique blend of business acumen and sensitivity to the personal development necessary to succeed. Not only do they receive the support and objectivity necessary to move to a substantially higher level, they are empowered to envision a far more significant future for themselves and their organizations.Corporate Experience During her 12 years in the telecommunications industry Ms. Brown held both line and staff positions. As Senior Director of Strategic Planning at Western Union, she worked with the Chairman to redirect the business planning process to link the $350 million capital budget to market opportunities. She was responsible for bringing to market an early version of electronic mail and for establishing corporate wide standards for servicing Western Union's corporate and consumer customers. Ms. Brown conducted market research for Procter and Gamble early in her career.Public Sector Experience For eight years Ms. Brown served as the Associate Executive Director of The Fresh Air Fund in New York City. In this capacity she functioned as the chief operating officer with full responsibility for The Fresh Air Fund programs. She implemented a major restructuring of the host family program to prevent further losses to the volunteer host base, and was instrumental in the reassignment of The Fund's $42 million investment fund to better performing investment managers. She served as an internal consultant for the development department, significantly improving donor management. Ms. Brown currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Glass Roots, an entrepreneurial arts organization serving the children of Newark, NJ.Professional Credentials Ms. Brown holds a certificate from the Executive Coach Academy and has received extensive training from Coach University and is a member of the International Coach Federation. Ms. Brown has earned a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University and an MBA with an emphasis on information management from The George Washington University.
